Organization's Mission: The Community Health Worker (CHW) Section is the professional organization for the CHW Workforce in Utah. The CHW section provides continuing education, public health resources, and networking opportunities for its members. It is the “hub” for Community Health Workers to build capacity, seek support from each other, and to connect with outside partners.

Position Summary: The CHW Section seeks an Information Technology and Communications Coordinator to build the CHW Section website, improve the digital presence and outreach of the CHW Section, create monthly newsletters, coordinating CHW meetings, build the Community Health Worker registry database, expand the CHW Section network, and build a communications strategy for the CHW Section. This is a time limited position and will end in May of 2023
Primary Responsibilities: Job Description
To implement the membership development plan, build and manage the CHW registry
To build a communication strategy and plan, including membership engagement and retention campaigns, outreach, stakeholder engagement, social media, and messaging. Support the Grants manager in the fundraising strategy and execution.
To anticipate problems and adjust the allocation of resources accordingly
To build and maintain CHW section website and online presence
To interpret membership recruitment and retention statistics and review member research and make recommendations
To manage member communications including responding to member queries and the production and inventory of membership and marketing material e.g., letters, newsletters, e-bulletins and brochures
To maintain accurate membership records and marketing databases
To manage affiliate activity and relationships with external organizations
Work with CHW Coordinator to perform necessary activities and assist with relevant projects
To perform ad hoc duties as required
Desired Qualifications: Education:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Communications, Information Technology, Marketing or relevant area of education
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
A good knowledge of marketing, website design, membership engagement, communications, fundraising, and IT support
Some understanding of community health workers, community organizing or engagement, public health and/or equity-focused community-based organizations. Comfortable in building and maintaining relationships in diverse communities across Utah
Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departments, members and organizations
Strong project management and organizational skill


Good written and oral communication skills


IT expertise: experience in building websites, proficiency in word processing, databases, spreadsheets, graphics software and web applications including email, e-marketing, surveys, e-discussion groups, etc.
