Position Summary: Marketing and PR intern will support Utah Arts Alliance staff with the promotion and execution of the annual Urban Arts Festival in September and ILLUMINATE: Light Art + Creative Tech Fest in November. A great candidate is interested in local art and culture, familiar with UAA’s programs and mission, and has a passion for community and event management. An ideal candidate will be pursuing a degree in marketing, communications or other related fields.
Primary Responsibilities: Marketing tasks include posting on-brand content to UAA’s social media pages, coordinating community outreach events, creating digital graphics under the direction of UAA Art Director and assisting with press coordination. The intern will be expected to attend weekly marketing meetings and any additional meetings attended by the marketing team. The intern must be available on festival dates:

September 3 - 5: Urban Arts Festival; urbanartsfest.org
November 12 - 13: Illuminate Festival; illuminatesaltlake.org

-Be able to take constructive feedback with grace and detachment
-Manage time to meet firm deadlines
-Follow best practices for print, environmental, and digital production
-Exceptional organizational and customer service skills
-Ability to access email each day and respond in a timely manner
-Proficient with Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.
-Ability to adapt and be flexible in an event-driven, nonprofit environment
-An interest in creating meaningful relationships with coworkers and volunteers, as well as patrons of the organization
-Awareness and care for internal and external social and political relationships
-Ability to perform under stress; stress management skills
