Position Summary: As a key member of the Development team, the full-time Database and Development Specialist plays an integral role in supporting all department activities including ownership and management of the database, working on all events, donor management, direct mail coordination and correspondence, administration tasks of the development team, and supporting the Board of Directors. This position will report to the Director, Development.
Primary Responsibilities: Essential Functions of the Position:
-Provide support for all development activities and serve as the main contact when team members are not available.
-Own and manage the department’s use of Raiser’s Edge database, including but not limited to, entering gifts and production of mailing lists, donor acknowledgments, various reports, and maintaining data accuracy.
-Work with finance staff to ensure accurate reporting of gifts.
-Support Development Manager with all special event logistics, including but not limited to registration, venue setup, onsite operations, and post-event follow-up.
-Support the Director, Development with daily tasks and meeting preparation as needed.
-Attend all Development committee meetings for the purpose of taking the minutes and ordering, pick up, and setting up meals for attendees. Also distributes minutes and maintains records for these committees. Acts as back up to Executive Assistant for any board of director back up.
-Perform donor and prospect research on individuals, corporations, and foundations.
-Maintain and cultivate effective relationships with donors and prospects.
-Provides administrative support to development team, specifically -Development, Director and Director, Major Donor Relations
-Act as backup to Executive Assistant when needed
-Act as back up to Front Desk when needed
Desired Qualifications: -2-3 years of related experience
-Bachelor’s degree in a related field
-Experience with donor databases, ideally Raiser’s Edge
-Strong skills with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
-Nonprofit Experience preferred
-Local knowledge of the Utah philanthropic community helpful
