Organization's Mission: Salt Lake Film Society is the non-profit home of independent film in Utah. Our mission is to educate, advocate and inform the community about and through cinema. We operate two venues, Broadway Centre Cinemas and Tower Theatre. We are located downtown and, in the 9th, and 9th neighborhood of Salt Lake City.

Position Summary: SLFS is hiring a full- time associate-level team member to assist with donor, member and sponsor outreach and cultural community building.

The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of development/fundraising and/or nonprofit marketing experience/education and a proven track record of success in donor/customer relationship cultivation.
The successful applicant will demonstrate strong organizational and interpersonal skills, outside-the-box thinking, and a talent for problem solving.
Success in this position will be measured by clearly defined development goals, including; donor/patron loyalty metrics, volunteer retention, timely donor fulfillment, transaction and customer profile accuracy, and other key metrics.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, Google Docs/Sheets, database maintenance and cloud computing are required.

An outgoing, approachable personality is key as this position will regularly interface with current and prospective donors, volunteers, and community partners.
Primary Responsibilities: Bachelor's degree in related field or a minimum of 2-years’ experience in the nonprofit sector: e.g., fundraising, donor relations, marketing, or donor-related public relations. Candidates with a strong sales, promotion, PR/outreach or advocacy background will also be considered.
Working understanding of standard fundraising tools, techniques and best practices
Strong data management and database skills. SLFS is a PC environment--proficiency in Microsoft Office and cloud computing applications is required
Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated project management success and collaborative skills
Ability to work well and pleasantly under pressure and time constraints
Interest in film, the arts and knowledge of SLFS mission and services
Preferred: Knowledge of the arthouse cinema and/or independent film industry
Desired Qualifications: Donor outreach and in-person venue presence during peak hours, events, and fundraising drives
Office duties including:
Donor and member benefits fulfillment and processing
Donor acknowledgment/tax letter preparation
Bulk mail/mail merge preparation and assembly, and other mail/email communication preparation as assigned
Database maintenance and cleanup--address updates and deduplication
Regular shifts at the donor information kiosk in venues
Assisting donors, sponsors, and members
Processing gifts and other ongoing and as assigned projects
Special events and donor relationship cultivation activities
Kiosk shifts require agility, strong time management and self-motivation skills.
Volunteer Management including recruiting, training, cultivating, and managing development volunteers
Event support duties including RSVP management, guest check-in, on-site logistics, volunteer management, donor and ticketing support, and event setup/strike
Remote and on-site fielding and fulfilling of special “concierge” requests from high value donors
Assisting donors with technical issues regarding their donor accounts and access to online streaming platform, concierge, and other benefits
Soliciting, managing, pick-up and delivery of in-kind donations and trades with community partners
Coordinating, tracking, and fulfilling charitable ticket and other outgoing donation requests
Represent and support development dept. at cultural tour and other select community program meetings
Occasional report generation in support of the department’s reporting needs
Off-site representation of SLFS at festivals, street fairs, and other strategic community opportunities
Other development support duties as assigned
