Position Summary: SUMMARY OF POSITION: Under the supervision of the Community Support Manager, the VITA Coordinator organizes and implements Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) services and programming throughout Weber County in accordance with IRS regulations and funding source requirements.
Primary Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Coordinate and implement VITA programing services, locations, and volunteers. Serve as point of contact for VITA programing.
2. Responsible for VITA volunteer orientation and training.
3. Maintain annual IRS tax preparations certification, including a working knowledge of tax laws.
4. Develop and implement logic models (work plans) for the VITA grant year.
5. Ensure required documentation and signage is available at all VITA sites.
6. Analyze data, identify trends and gaps in services for program improvement.
7. Provide support to the Community Support Manager in VITA grant development.
8. Establish partnerships and secure space for financial literacy trainings. Work with IRS SPEC to order materials needed for upcoming VITA program year.
9. Supervision of volunteers, including recruiting, training, scheduling, and monitoring of volunteer activities.
10. Develop and implement training for all volunteers.
11. Complete all documentation and reports as required by funding sources to meet required deadlines.
12. Monitor e-filing submissions and follow up on rejected returns as needed.
13. Maintain confidentiality of all client documents per agency and IRS requirements.
14. Work with Program Manager to monitor VITA budget, plan and implement programmatic expenditures, and submit requisitions per fiscal systems.
15. Participate in the statewide Earn it. Keep it. Save it. (EIKISI) Coalition. This will include attending meetings, submitting reports, and strategic planning for VITA implementation in Weber County.
16. Ensure all Community Support and tax client files are secured in a locked file cabinet or are behind locked doors and not accessible to anyone from the outside.
17. During tax season, schedule will include nights and/or weekends. Outside of tax season, schedule will be based on required meetings and trainings.
18. Attend applicable trainings as required by position.
Desired Qualifications: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Ability to develop and maintain community partnerships.
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Able to operate standard office equipment.
• Must be proficient in use of Microsoft office programs.
• Able to learn, operate, and teach tax return software.
• Preference will be given to bilingual (English/Spanish) individuals.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• One year’s work experience in a related field
• Education may be substituted for experience or a combination of both is applicable
