Position Summary: JOB TITLE: Community Resource Center Director’s Assistant
South Valley Services is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide a variety of options to anyone experiencing family violence. Our programs aim to empower individuals and communities to recognize their self-worth and to develop the necessary skills to reach their greatest potential, contributing to the collective wellbeing of our community. We believe advocacy, prevention and safety are the primary tools in the process of eliminating family violence. SVS has three programs to fulfill our mission: shelter, community resource centers and prevention/outreach.
South Valley Sanctuary is the shelter for women, men and their children who are surviving family violence. Community Resource Centers (CRC’s) provide case management services to individuals and families residing in the community at large. They offer case management and referral services to domestic violence victims and local families using coordination and community response across multiple disciplines The CRC’s are located in the West Jordan City Hall and the Riverton City Hall.
Primary Responsibilities: RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide direct services to any community clients and shelter residents who are victims of domestic violence that need help in navigating systems and resources
• Provide referrals to community resources and empower clients in creating safety plans, action plans and personal goals
• Work collaboratively with other agency staff and community service providers to ensure the safety, security and well‐being of clients that are victims of domestic violence
• Act as a leader and support for the department by training new case managers and providing them with the tools and knowledge necessary for success
Desired Qualifications: CLASSIFICATION
Full‐time Salaried (Non-Exempt, 40 hours per week)

QUALIFICATIONS
• A minimum of two years’ experience working in the field of domestic violence.
• Case Management Experience and/or experience working with families in crisis.
• Knowledge of Community Resources.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Fluency in writing and speaking English and Spanish; Bilingual and Bicultural
• Valid Driver License, Up to Date auto insurance, reliable transportation
• Ability to work with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
• Ability to effectively promote South Valley Services. Strong public relations skills, ability to speak before large audiences. I deleted the other bullet point because it was already on this one.
• Ability to work sensitively and effectively with various populations.
• SSW License (preferred)

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services/Public Health field

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

RESPONSIBILITIES

DUTIES
1. Provide victims with adult case management services, including but not limited to: development of safety plan, action plan, initial case management intake, and at a minimum have weekly meetings or follow up with victims they are helping.
2. Maintain case management notes and documentation in compliance with Family Violence Prevention and Services Act, Victims of Crime Act, and Violence Against Women Act confidentiality mandates.
3. Assume responsibility for providing individual advocacy and case management services for adult clients.
4. Assist clients in identifying barriers and resources
5. Provide community resources and referrals as needed
6. Promote high ethical and professional standards in all relationships and activities.
7. Attend monthly meetings for COLAVI and UHC and report meeting findings to Community Resource Center Director
8. Facilitate trainings for new staff on the roles and responsibilities of a case manager as well as adult domestic violence issues
9. Provide support to the Community Resource Center Director, including but not limited to: creating agendas and meeting minutes for the weekly Case Management Meetings, maintaining the West Jordan and Riverton Community Resource Center supplies, attending domestic violence related community meetings and providing assistance in the creation and implementation of department policies
