Position Summary: The role of the Housing & Meaningful Access Coordinator (HMAC) supports the expansion of UDVC’s prevention efforts with the focus on assessing, outreach, preparing and responding to housing & meaningful access related community challenges in the context of Domestic Violence. The HMAC will be the central point of contact for the state to provide support and respond adequately to the complex housing needs for technical assistance to our member programs and ensure ample access for those needing services/resources. The HMAC will ensure that information shared is grant compliant, victim centered, trauma informed, evidence-based, correlated with our training and education programming, and promotes consistent, accessible support throughout our services statewide.

The role of Housing & Meaningful Access Coordinator supports the expansion of UDVC’s prevention efforts, including the assessing, outreach, preparing and responding to housing & meaningful access related community challenges in the context of Domestic Violence. This includes the administration and expansion of UDVC’s HomeSafe program– see program descriptions below.

Additionally, the HMAC will provide support to our member programs, state agencies and community partners by raising awareness of the complex needs/intersections of housing and DV plus prevention efforts by hosting/attending monthly meetings, and fulfilling other needs as identified.

HomeSafe Program
This program will provide for increased access and retention of stable housing to domestic violence survivors by contracting with community service providers. These community service providers specialize in delivering services to domestic violence survivors and their children. HomeSafe is guided by the safety and self-determination needs of survivors. The main component of the HomeSafe program is wrap-around support from qualified professional advocates and flexibility in providing immediate, short-term financial assistance to survivors to help stabilize their immediate housing needs. The HomeSafe model’s main pillars are:

• Flexible Financial Assistance

The Housing & Meaningful Access Coordinator will help create, plan, implement and report on this new program by working closely with UDVC Member Programs to focus on increasing survivor’s access to and retention of stable housing.
Primary Responsibilities: • Provide technical assistance to UDVC member program advocates around issues related to the HomeSafe program, housing, and creating / maintaining relationships with homeless planning committees.
• Collect and analyze data and outcomes from partner programs; prepare performance measures and outcome reports for legislative supporters and project administrators.
• Participate in Utah Continuum of Care, Coordinated Entry & SLVCEH Core Function regional meetings.
• Work with staff from DWS, regional leads, and DV program directors to build capacity for shelters to ensure data collection is an accurate and seamless process for COC.
• Participate in monthly Housing workgroup meetings which include HomeSafe participants to support the ongoing conversation for housing access, challenges, & opportunities across the state.
• Monitor sub-recipients, ensuring that participating programs act in compliance with our programs’ expectations, maintain detailed records, and provide timely reports.
• Stay informed about national housing issues and provide training and technical assistance using Housing First principles and practices through a domestic violence lens.
• An understanding of, and agreement with UDVC’s mission, values, and philosophy with the elimination of domestic violence, supremacy, and oppression including understanding of and promotion of survivor self-determination/empowerment models of care.
• Perform other activities/responsibilities as assigned by UDVC leadership team.
Desired Qualifications: • Demonstrated experience in program development, and/or providing training and instructing individuals or groups concerning specific projects or processes.
• Well-developed organizational skills, self-motivator, time management skills, ability to juggle multiple deadlines, strong attention to detail, commitment to creating high quality programs and work well in a team environment.
• Ability to gather and summarize data and to design, prepare, and format reports.
• Strong verbal, writing and interpersonal skills including the ability to work constructively with various staff members and funders. Must maintain a professional demeanor.
• Enjoy collaboration and being part of a dynamic, highly productive and integrated team; maintain flexibility and effectively manage ambiguity in a responsive work environment.
• Ability to keep sensitive information confidential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office® & applications. Proficiency in Google Suite platform: forms, docs, sheets, etc. Proficiency in Zoom application. Experience with other computer applications (and ability to learn new ones).

Preference may be given for the following qualifications:
• Multilingual / Bi-Lingual speaker preferred.
• Experience in a domestic violence related field. Direct service provision preferred.
• Knowledge of and experience with best practices for implementing culturally responsive, trauma-informed community protocols.
• Understanding of the intersection of oppression as it perpetuates a culture of violence and creates barriers to accessing domestic and sexual violence response services.
• Hold a deep commitment to eliminating oppression and violence against all through social change.

• This position may require occasional in-state and out-of-state travel, including remote rural areas. Employees must have access to their own transportation.
• Flexibility in scheduling, including occasional overnight stays and extended days.
Benefits / Why Work With Us: The Housing & Meaningful Access Coordinator is a full-time, salaried (exempt) position and is supervised by the Project Manager. Salary is negotiable ($40,000–$45,000), depending on experience, and includes the following benefits:
