Position Summary: Child Nutrition Professionals prepare and serve nutritious meals each day for children ages three to eighteen. The health and safety of our youth is one of our top concerns and the Child Nutrition Professionals play an active role in protecting our youth by practicing safe food handling and cleanliness. Proper and adequate nutrition aids in our three priority outcomes; academic success, good character and citizenship. Child Nutrition Professionals help ensure that every Club Member has an Optimal Club Experience that sets them up for lifelong success.

Successful CNPs have a passion for serving others and contributing to the wellbeing of the community at large. Child Nutrition Professionals have the ability to connect with young people and offer supportive relationships. They are team players willing to do whatever it takes to ensure that Club Members are safe, recognized, and given the opportunity to learn new skills.
Primary Responsibilities: KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

Establish rapport with youth and provide fun, meaningful meal services

Prepare and serve breakfast and lunch for the child care program as well as snack for the child care, junior, and teen programs daily according to food program requirements, menu, and product provided

Ensure daily Child and Adult Care Food Program/Summer Food Service Program paperwork is accurate and completed during each meal service and submitted to supervisor at the end of the week

Adhere to federal food program regulations and protocols

Perform a variety of cleaning duties:
* Cleans food preparation and service areas (sweep, mop, clean sinks and counters)
* Dishwashing
* Cleans cafeteria tables
* Washes towels and aprons
* Periodic cleaning of storage areas, refrigerators, freezer, oven, stove, shelving

Follow strict hygiene practices
Desired Qualifications: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge:

Ability to prioritize tasks and accomplish them in a detailed, timely manner

Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with Club Members, peers, parents, community leaders, etc.

Self-motivated, comfortable with both independent and collaborative processes

Willing to share an area of interest, skill, or talent with youth

Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent

Other Requirements:
Food Handlers permit (or ability to obtain)

Be able to stand for 5 hours at a time

Be able to lift up to 50 pounds

21 years of age and over preferred (to meet driving requirements)

Must be able to pass a criminal background check

Must be able to pass Drug Screening
