Job Summary: The "All Day at the J" Program Assistant will report to work from 7:45 AM-3:15 PM Monday-Friday to facilitate a school day alternative program for youth. The Program Assistant will supervise and mentor children in Kindergarten-6th grade.
Primary Responsibilities: The Program Assistant will develop and implement child-centered learning activities pertaining to a new theme each month. Youth may bring their devices for virtual school and the Program Assistant will facilitate each child’s independent virtual learning. The Program Assistant will work with parents to meet the needs of families in the JCC community, and reports to the Youth & Teen Director.
Desired Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications
• Must be reliable, report to work on-time, and meet established deadlines
• Loves working with children and responding to their emergent needs and inquiries
• Must be flexible- able to work in a team and communicate effectively with colleagues
• Proficiency in all elementary school subjects
• Must be able to pass a background check
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working with youth, ages 5-12
• Current First Aid/ CPR Certification
• 21 years of age or older
• Current driver’s license
