Job Summary: The EveryDay Support Volunteer Trainer and Recruitment Specialist is responsible to directly oversee and implement the recruitment, training, and maintenance of volunteers for both physical and virtual year-round VITA program sites in Utah, Wasatch, and Summit counties as well as volunteers for tutor mentoring, for the Digital Inclusion project, and for the Sub-for-Santa program. One of the person’s two roles is to recruit and train community members to serve in various roles within the VITA program; to ensure volunteer tax preparers are certified at least on the IRS Basic Level and for specific assignments (Cancellation of Debt and/or Health Savings Accounts); and to ensure other VITA volunteers receive training specific to their individual assignments (greeters, interpreters, quality reviewers, and tax coaches). The second role is to implement and oversee the use of volunteers in specific EveryDay Support initiatives including 211, Day of Caring, Sub-for-Santa and Digital Inclusion. The person will spend half of their time in each area. The person will need to establish a year round recruitment and training program.

Requirements: 

Passionate about volunteerism and community service.
Willingness and capacity to certify at Advanced tax preparation level before volunteer training and annual tax season.
Willingness and capacity to become familiar with tax preparation software.
Possesses good interpersonal skills and must feel comfortable approaching, interacting, and teaming with families, businesses, community leaders, nonprofit providers, and other professionals. 
Carries him/herself with professionalism.
Participates in state training and events as needed.
Ability to work independently.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM. Some early mornings, evenings, and Saturdays may occasionally be required.

Physical Activity: While performing this job, the incumbent typically spends time sitting, walking, standing, listening, speaking, writing, and operating a personal computer.  Frequently, he/she will be required to drive an automobile to attend meetings or events within the community.  Occasionally, he/she is expected to lift and carry office records and supplies up to 15 lbs. Associate degree or coursework in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
May exchange year-to-year work experience with educational requirement
1+ years of experience preparing professional or personal tax returns preferred
1+ year of management or leadership experience preferred
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite with the ability to learn new software applications
Proficient English and Spanish verbal and written skills preferred
Valid Utah Driver’s License
Access to a personal vehicle for use during work hours
