Salary: $11.00 - $12.00 hourly
Job Description: Red Butte Garden is seeking Garden After Dark Event Staff that will report to the Youth & Family Programs Manager. The Garden After Dark Event Staff help plan, develop, and run Red Butte Garden’s annual Halloween event, Garden After Dark.

Responsibilities

•Preparing educational crafts and other event take-home items
•Designing and creating event displays and stations within strict timeline, budget, and thematic restraints
•Assisting in the planning, developing, fabricating, installing, maintaining, and removing of event stations and displays
•Leading event crafts, activities, and stations with other staff and volunteers and calmly attending to unexpected event incidents
•Providing direction, leadership, and feedback to event volunteers
•Effectively communicating with guests, coworkers, and volunteers
•Engaging with large crowds of guests and assisting in crowd management
•Providing excellent customer service and ensuring guest satisfaction before, after, and during the event
•Ensuring the well-being of event guests by following all safety and security rules, procedures, and protocols
•Assisting with daily operations by maintaining supplies, facilities, and equipment
•Taking direction from and communicating effectively with supervisor and other Youth & Family Programs staff
•Performing any other departmental duties as directed by the Youth & Family Programs Manager

Minimum Qualifications

Three years experience as a classroom assistant in a related academic area, or equivalency; knowledge and understanding of a variety of teaching methods in order to adjust activities/training session to include participants of different ages; a thorough knowledge of related academic subjects in order to participate in developing classroom activities/programs; and demonstrated knowledge of teaching methods and communication skills to conduct educational activities and/or training sessions in a clear and concise manner required. Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills are also required.
