Job Description: The mission of the Family Support Center's LifeStart Village is to move single parents with children from dependency to self-sufficiency. At LifeStart Village, single parents and their children move from homelessness or near-homelessness into safe, stable housing where they develop the necessary skills to create a stable, nurturing environment while working toward the goal of self-sufficiency.
Position Description:
LifeStart Village is a self-sufficiency program with housing for homeless or near-homeless single-parent families. We are looking to hire a part-time employee to assist the Program Director in the many different duties involved in a residential nonprofit organization.

Maximum 20 hours/week, Monday-Friday. Some evenings and weekends will be required on occasion. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 9:00am-1:00pm and Wednesdays from 4:00-8:00pm.

• Monitoring and refilling resident cleaning supplies
• Weekly unit inspections
• Monitoring resident chores
• Receiving, sorting and distributing donations
• Filing and organization
• Setting up vacant units
• Monitoring and organizing freezers
• Distributing information to residents
• Organizing and assisting with child care during mandatory resident meetings and classes
• Other duties as assigned by Program Director
• Social service experience (Preferred)
• Experience working with vulnerable populations (Preferred)
• Proven ability to work independently (Required)
• Computer Literacy: 1 year (Required)
• High School Diploma (Required)
• Ability to lift 25 lbs.
• Must be able to be on feet 75% of time
• Must be able to climb stairs

Training Provided:
Training will take place with the LifeStart Village Program Director during the first few weeks and concurrently along the way. Will attend four hours of learning the agency culture program within the first eight weeks of being hired.

As a local nonprofit, the Family Support Center relies on its staff to help deliver the agency mission of protecting children, strengthening families, and preventing child abuse. Because of your support in this position, we will have the ability to provide more controlled records and operate our housing programs with appropriate supervision to assure more safe and fulfilling lives for children and families in need.
