Position Summary: Directs the delivery of quality food and nutrition services program-wide in order to meet the nutritional needs of enrolled children including those with special dietary needs and ensures compliance with Head Start Performance Standards as well as state and county standards. Maintains awareness of changing Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) regulations. Develops and implements nutrition services training for teachers, cooks and assistant cooks and provides ongoing support to center staff. Observes and evaluates the implementation of point of service meal counts, portion sizes during meal service, and hygiene and sanitation in the classroom as it relates to food service.
Primary Responsibilities: Directs the delivery of quality food and nutrition services program-wide in order to meet the nutritional needs of enrolled children including those with special dietary needs.
Desired Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Production Management or related field. A Registered or Certified Dietitian is preferred.
