Position Summary: CONNECT Summit County is looking to fill the role of Executive Director. The ideal candidate will drive the mission of CONNECT forward and live and breathe the organization’s values every day. The Executive Director reports to Connect Summit County’s Board of Directors and will have experience managing a team and organization. The Executive Director will have a passion for team- and community-building, a strong interest in mental health, and experience in the social sector. Build an inclusive culture of respect and professionalism.
Primary Responsibilities: Serve as Chief Executive Officer with P&L ownership.
Create organizational culture centered on respect for employees, volunteers, and community members and collaboration in achieving goals.
Create the strategic plan for approval by the board of directors and develop and execute the annual work plan.
Provide the board regular reports such as P&L, budget variance, and impact reporting. Work with the board chair to set agendas and general communication with the board and board committees.
Drive the strategy for data collection to represent the impact of the organization.
Financial oversight:
○ Prepare an annual budget for review and approval by the board of directors.
○ Oversee finances including payroll, bookkeeping entries, and accounts payable and receivable. Reconcile credit accounts and all other business in a timely and fiscally responsible manner.

Manage personnel and programing:
○ Build the organizational capacity necessary to achieve the strategic plan goals, including hiring and retaining necessary personnel and arranging appropriate education and training.
○ Oversee the Director of Development: Set the annual development goals in partnership with the Director of Development. Oversee and engage in relationship-building with key donors and sponsors. Support the planning and execution of annual fundraising events like Live PC Give PC. Identify grant opportunities and maintain strong relationships with grantors. Support preparation of CONNECT Summit County's annual report and other communications.
○ Supervise the Peer Navigation program and database service.
○ Support educational programming.

Keep an agile and nimble mindset:
○ Be proactive to mental health community needs.
○ Champion new services, including identifying and managing new initiatives, and identify gaps in services on behalf of the community.
○ Maintain dedication to the organization's attributes of innovation, flexibility, nimbleness, and decisiveness.

Represent in the community:
○ Represent CONNECT in the Summit County Mental Wellness Alliance and other community organizations, including city and county organizations.
○ Implement effective public relations strategies.
○ Advocate for better mental health services.

Perform HR functions:
○ Create, implement, and oversee usage of employee handbooks, policies, and procedures.
○ Assure appropriate use of technology by all personnel.
○ Execute employee development through a culture of continuous feedback.

Perform any other duties necessary to maintain CONNECT as a unique, nimble, viable organization serving the community.
Desired Qualifications: ● Nonprofit experience preferred.
● 3-5 years of experience in a management role.
● Knowledge of the mental health system.
● Familiarity with the Summit County community.
● College degree and a minimum of 8 years of experience preferred.
● Advanced degree related to mental health or nonprofit management is a plus.
