Pay Range: $18-$20
Organization's Mission: The English Skills Learning Center seeks to strengthen and intergrate communities by breaking language and cultural barriers.
Organization's Race, Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion Statement and Work: The ESLC is an equal opportunity employer. All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran status and/or disability status. In order to achieve "a community where all voices are celebrated," the ESLC goes beyond legal requirements and actively engages in practices that fight against inequity. The ESLC recognizes that access to formal education is a privilege, so we equate 2 years of full-time experience to one year of formal education. We also provide an opportunity for applicants to participate in competency-based activities that showcase their skills during the interview process. We list salary/wage ranges on all job posting to increase transparency. In order to further reduce bias - hidden or otherwise - commonly seen in hiring practices, we have also implemented a process of removing applicant names and information or images that pertain to age, race, and gender from submitted applications before they are forwarded to the hiring committee for review. It is for this reason that only applications received through the "" email will be considered. We hope that these practices will increase the diversity of backgrounds and experience on our team. We also hope that other businesses and nonprofits will join us in implementing these practices.
