Position Summary: Job Description:
The Independent Living Plus (ILP) home is a program for refugee and immigrant teenagers and young adults in the Refugee Foster Care program. It is a transitional placement option where youth can practice and learn independent living skills in a supportive environment with staff present. The primary functions of the Independent Living Plus Supervisor position are to manage the functioning of the ILP Home and to assume primary responsibility for the functioning of the ILP program including the staff and residents.
Primary Responsibilities: Responsibilities include:
1. Overall responsibility for the hiring, training, and job performance of the Independent Living Plus House Managers.
2. Overall responsibility for the development and facilitation of the Independent Living Plus program.
3. Quality improvement including accountability, reporting, and outcomes. The ack monthly progress of the program participants.
4. Update Policies and Procedures and create necessary manuals for the program.
5. Ensure that all necessary permits and licensure with the city and the Department of Human Services are maintained in compliance.
6. Oversee collaboration, teamwork, and cohesion between House Managers, Mentors, Transition to Adult Living Coaches, case managers, and supervisors.
7. Conduct planned home visits at least twice monthly for each ILP home and unannounced home visits for each ILP home quarterly.
8. Coordinate with the program manager, case managers, and house managers in making placement decisions with youth wanting to participate in the ILP program and with youth ready to transition out.
9. Coordinate with the landlord regarding maintenance requests and ensure they are completed promptly.
10. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
11. Crisis and emergency response as needed.
12. Other duties may be assigned.

Work Environment – inside/outside, office, warehouse, noise, temperature, etc.
1. Work will be performed primarily inside the Independent Living Plus homes, but may also occur in youths’ places of employment, educational institutions, and other locations as needed in addition to being performed in an office.
2. Driving is required in this position.

1. Work requires the ability to sit and stand for long periods, walk moderate distances, drive, and occasionally assist youth with physical activities such as carrying groceries or household supplies.

Education, training, and or experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related field from an accredited institution.
2. Experience with multi-cultural and refugee communities.
3. Experience working with youth, preferable in a foster care setting.

Background Screen/BCI requirement
1. Must be able to pass a national BCI/FBI background check.

Licenses, certifications, and credentials
1. SSW or CSW preferred.
2. Current Utah driver’s license, proof of auto insurance with minimum policy liability limits of $50,000 per person and $100,000 per occurrence, 21 years of age or older, a clean driving record, and ability to meet CCS vehicle safety requirements.

Position status and expected schedule
1. This position is exempt.
2. The general schedule will consist of 40 hours working Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 AM and 9:00 PM. This schedule is flexible but may include crisis and emergency response on weekends and evenings.
