Salary: $75,000 - 90,000
Job Description: The Utah AIDS Foundation is currently seeking an experienced, professional Executive Director (ED) to oversee all operations, functions, and activities within our organization. The ideal candidate will have the skills and confidence needed to be the face of the organization, shouldering the responsibility of providing strategic direction and implementing a progressive vision for the future. The ED works closely with the Board to establish the organizational vision and strategy.

Fundraising and Public Relations
- Work with the development team and board to ensure that UAF’s supporters, including foundations, corporations, agencies, and membership at large, are informed and supportive of UAF’s activities.
- Responsible for the fiscal integrity of UAF, which includes development of a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements, which accurately reflect the financial condition of the organization.
- Expand and cultivate personal relationships with major donors.
- Be the face of the organization, being a representative of UAF in its interactions with other organizations, membership, media, and public at large.
- Oversee capital improvements and ensure appropriate funding for these improvements.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships of trust with donors, partners, volunteers and decision makers in both public and private sectors.

Management and Planning
- Maintain a working team environment that attracts, retains, and motivates a diverse staff of top quality people.
- Conduct annual staff performance evaluations and provide guidance in attaining individual goals.
- Collaborate with board and staff in development and implementation of strategic goals
- Understand best practices of non-profit management
- Work directly with CFO and Program Director to ensure rigorous programming and financial stability

Board Relations
- Works directly with the Board of Trustees to lead UAF in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission.
- Responsible for communicating effectively with the Board and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly and to make informed decisions.

Bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, health education or related field, or equivalent experience. Master’s degree and some education in business or human services administration preferred.
Minimum of five years employment in human services, including two years administrative experience. Two years either paid or volunteer experience working with HIV/AIDS issues preferred.
Skills in supervision, program planning and development, public relations/education, fund development, and management systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to relate positively and sensitively to persons diverse in lifestyle, age, ethnicity, beliefs, socio-economic level and sexual orientation.
