Job Description: The Kimball Art Center seeks a candidate who is innovative, strategic, detail-oriented, solution-oriented,
collaborative and inspired by our mission, vision and values. The Events Manager is responsible for the
overall event management for the Kimball Art Center, including the annual Park City Kimball Arts
Festival, annual Gala, facility rentals and other activities. This person is responsible for collaborating with
all key staff to plan, organize and direct event functions. This employee takes a leadership role in driving,
developing and expanding new strategic initiatives and establishing best practices and measurements.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Execute and manage all events, facility rentals and related budgets including, but not limited to,
annual Park City Kimball Arts Festival, Gala, ARToberFest, etc.
• Strategically plan, identify and execute events activity within the Kimball Art Center mission and
brand.
• Determine, allocate, monitor and manage the overall events budget.
• Develop strategic initiatives to promote growth opportunities, including capital campaign.
• Responsible for entirety of Park City Kimball Arts Festival, including staffing, volunteers,
operations, artists, contracting with Park City Municipal Corporation and all other internal and
external stakeholders.
• Manage Marketing & Volunteer Coordinator with respect to volunteer planning of Kimball Arts
Festival.
• Organize and manage all facility rentals for the Kimball, including Sundance Film Festival rentals,
sales, on-site management, contracts, budgets and post-event reports.
• Represent the Kimball on various event committees in the community as needed.
• Work with all departments (Education, Exhibitions, Development, Operations and The Board) to
promote strategic goals and objectives.

HUMAN RESOURCES
• Hire and supervise staff, interns and consultants for the appropriate programs.
• Orient and train staff to further Kimball Art Center’s mission and values, highlighting processes,
learning opportunities and professional development. Plan and lead regular meetings with staff.
• Establish performance standards for all personnel and provide performance evaluations and
feedback.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Three or more years of experience in event management and operations, including multi-day
events.
• Supervisory and budget management experience.
• Marketing, logistics, vendor negotiations and client relationship management experience.
• Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to build/manage an effective team.
• Exceptional organization skills with a strong focus on detail.
• Self-directed and organized with good time management and problem solving skills, with an
ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and presentation skills (written and verbal).
• Computer literacy required (Microsoft Office suite).
• Must possess strong interpersonal skills and be comfortable interacting with internal colleagues
and external constituents.
• Ability to work closely and collaboratively with co-workers; demonstrate initiative and selfmotivation.
• Ability to work independently at times but also collaboratively.
• Flexible schedule, with the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Must be available for 49th Annual Park City Kimball Arts Festival and Gala, August 2-5, 2018.
• Must be able to lift 50+ pounds and be willing to do manual labor as needed.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
• Position Reports To: Executive Director.
• Position Manages: Marketing & Volunteer Coordinator (co-manages), Arts Festival Operations
Manager, Arts Festival Artist Manager.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
• This job operates in a professional office environment, off site venues and outside event areas in
various weather conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as
computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines and AV equipment. Some ladder
use may be requested. Evening, weekend and occasional holiday hours will be required for event
management.
