Organization's Programs and Services: Find affordable housing:
We help refugees find and maintain housing that they can afford. Safe, clean housing is foundational to self-reliance.

Learn english:
With new or improved English skills, refugees can begin to integrate into their community and find sustainable work.

Receive cultural training:
We facilitate cultural conversations by training on how to live well in Utah Valley and embracing refugees’ cultural heritage.

Receive job training & education:
Mentors, tutors, and skilled teachers assist refugees, helping them prepare for job interviews, pursue education, and more.

Find legal aid:
We help refugees find resources who can help in the process of becoming a legal citizen of the United States.

Access medical assistance:
The American health system can be complicated. We help refugees learn how to receive needed health care.
Skills & Talents of Ideal Candidate: A high school diploma or a bachelor’s degree in accounting or experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
In addition to the above qualifications, this position requires:
· Proficiency using Microsoft and excel spreadsheets
· Knowledge of using QuickBooks

Position Summary: JOB TITLE: Board of Director - Treasurer (Volunteer)
LOCATION: 125 E 300 S, Provo, Ut 84606
Hours: Twice a month (2 hrs/meeting)


Utah Valley Refugees a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Utah County, with its mission to relocate and help refugees and immigrants build new lives in Utah. We are looking for a committed person, passionate and willing to support our mission and the need of uprooted populations in Utah County.


As a treasurer at Utah Valley Refugees, your main responsibilities are but not limited to overseeing the management and reporting of the organization’s finances, ensure the safe and accurate reception and utilization of all funds.


Monitor compliance with all safe accounting procedures
Supervise and train accounting team
Work with the executive director and the accountant in establishing a budget for board approval
Report financials to the board

In addition to the above responsibilities, as a member of the Board of Directors of UTAH VALLEY REFUGEES, you will have legal and ethical responsibility to ensure that the organization does the best work possible in pursuit of its goals and support the purpose and mission of the organization.
