Nonprofit Day on the Hill is the one day that nonprofits from across the state, serving every cause, can show up at the Utah Capitol and ask that our elected officials show up for nonprofits. Whether you are new to advocacy or a seasoned pro, Nonprofit Day on the Hill is the perfect opportunity to get involved in Utah’s legislative session, build relationships with elected officials, forge alliances with nonprofits who believe in your work, and speak out on behalf of your mission. It’s one day—that has the potential to create a lifetime of opportunities for your nonprofit.

Here’s what you can expect. (Schedule is subject to change. Final details will be emailed prior to the event.)

8:00 AM to 10:00 AM | Hall of Governors

• Registration/check-in and light refreshments
• Welcome and guest speakers
• Nonprofit Networking: Share legislative priorities and identify potential allies/coalitions 

10:00 AM to 11:00 AM

• Group photo
• Visit legislative offices and drop off letters of introduction 
• Transition to Rotunda and Nonprofit Tabling set up

11:00 AM to 2 PM | Capitol Rotunda

• Point of Personal Privilege in the House and Senate
• Nonprofit Tabling in the Rotunda

Nonprofit Day on the Hill Registration Includes:  

• Networking and collaboration with fellow UNA member nonprofits 
• One six-foot table and two chairs in the Capitol Rotunda from 11 AM to 2 PM 
• An informational packet on nonprofit lobbying and advocacy 
• An introduction to the legislative process and an opportunity to meet with elected officials 
• Publicity and visibility for your nonprofit 
• Registration for our virtual Nonprofit Day on the Hill Prep Workshop on Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 10 AM to 12 PM (details below)

Nonprofit Day on the Hill  Workshop (VIRTUAL) | Thursday, December 14, 2023 | 10 AM to 12 PM 

To make the most of your time in January, we strongly recommend you attend the virtual training workshop on December 14, 2023. This is a free training to prepare and prioritize your time and make the most of Nonprofit Day on the Hill, January 16, 2024. During this workshop, UNA will provide you with training, tools, and a checklist that will increase your advocacy impact on Nonprofit Day on the Hill and throughout the year.
