Salary: $15.38/Hour
Job Description: Work Sunday - Wednesday, 10-hour shifts. Provide supervision to frontline staff (Youth Advocates);assistance with management of facility; coverage for absent staff.
The Youth Resource Center offers services for clients between the ages of 15 and 23. Provide a safe and nurturing environment for clients in accordance with licensing and agency standards.
• Utilize appropriate agency, licensing, and contract requirement to guide shelter operations.
• Ensure that shelter is in compliance with client age and gender requirements, and that all shelter staff is trained, and following to these requirements.
• Spend 70-80% of time working on the floor with staff.
o Offer interactive and hands-on modeling of appropriate client interactions.
o Mentor staff on how to handle crisis situations.
o Provide immediate teaching moments regarding client situations and on other programming related duties.
o Utilize down time to engage in client interactions.
• Participate in hiring, training, evaluating, and coaching assigned staff members.
• Meet with staff members weekly to address concerns, provide feedback, and encourage self-care.
• Support adherence of client rules and program expectations through a trauma informed lens.
• Work closely with the Center Director and Program Manager in all aspects of shelter operation.
• Manage the adherence to the daily and shelter program milieu by staff and clients.
• Complete all required documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
• Rotate on-call responsibilities with other staff as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in social service or non-profit setting..
• Two years supervisory experience.
• Experience working with youth (at-risk preferred),
• Positive outlook and ability to work independently and take direction.
• Compassionate yet able to enforce rules.
• Flexibility to respond to changes.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to lift and carry 30 pounds.
• Work requires walking around and interacting with clients for extended periods of time.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record (no DUI within 5 years, no more than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years)
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
