Salary: $11.84-16.78 dep on qualifications
Job Description: Job Summary: Responsible for advocating for the children and families in the Head Start and/or Early Head Start program in the following areas: Parent Involvement, Social Services, Health, and general needs. Assuring that the children and families are having needs met as per Head Start/ Early Head Start Standards, OWCAP Systems Development & Procedures; and the on-going monitoring plan. Maintain client files and database. Make referrals to other programs and agencies to assist families to work towards self-sufficiency.
• General knowledge of child development
• General knowledge of child abuse and neglect laws
• Able to operate standard office equipment and follow office procedures
• Basic knowledge of family services resources
• Basic knowledge of public health resources
• Able to learn and utilize databases and record keeping systems
• Able to develop and maintain family & community partnerships
• Must be proficient in use of Microsoft office programs.
• Able to adapt written and verbal communication skills in interactions with clients, peers, volunteers, and partners.
• Must be able to prioritize tasks.
• Occasional heavy lifting (45 lbs. & over)

• Must be able to see and hear with or without an aid

• Must have the ability to understand verbal and written instructions in English, and count
• Must be able to meet either set one or set two of the qualification criteria listed below:
Set One:
a. High School Diploma or equivalent.
b. Work experience in a related field for a minimum of two (2) years.
c. Must be able to obtain a credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field within 18 months of hire and retain certification thereafter
Set Two:
a. Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field.
b. Work experience in a related field for a minimum of four (4) years.
• Additional Education may be substituted in the place of experience to meet requirements to be hired.
Set One: $11.84-12.69 hourly DOExp.
Set Two: $15.07-16.78 hourly DOExp.
Employment Status: Full Time (1608 hours per program year)
(Pay is pro-rated for year-round pay based on hours scheduled to work for the program year)
