Job Description: Wasatch Adaptive Sports is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides year-round recreational, educational, and social programming to children, adults, and veterans with adaptive needs. Snowbird is a key supporter of WAS and houses one of the organization's offices at the resort. WAS provides programming at Snowbird as well as at various other locations along the Wasatch Front. Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Program Coordinator assists in organizing day-to-day program operations during summer and winter months.

Position Functions/ Areas of Responsibility:

Attends all scheduled programming, including, but not limited to, adaptive sport programming, instructor and volunteer training, social events, and outreach events.
Coordinates on-site logistics with instructors, volunteers and host point of contact.
Communicates and oversees daily lesson plan with instructors and volunteers.
Ensures safety standards are met within program delivery.
Confirms lessons daily with students.
Maintains accurate record of all student participation and volunteer hours.
Coordinates daily equipment needs ensuring all devices are in safe and working condition and fit the needs of the students.
Maintains up-to-date record of equipment use.
Transports equipment.
Coordinates regular maintenance of all equipment. Performs minor repairs as needed.
Maintains up-to-date inventory of equipment.
Stores all equipment in organized manner.
Communicates all equipment needs to Program Manager.
Coordinates general maintenance on program vehicles and trailer.
With Program Manager, executes strategies for quality improvement in program delivery.
Teaches lessons as needed.

Education & Experience Requirements

High School Diploma
Two years of job related experience with demonstrated competence.
Current driver’s license, and clean driving record


College degree or equivalent.
Previous experience in adaptive sport and recreation.
Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities and/or special needs.

Specific Requirements:

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Skills & Knowledge:

Must be competent in Word, Excel, Adobe Document Cloud and Acrobat, Google Drive.
Basic bike and ski maintenance skills
PSIA and/or AASI certification(s) preferred
Willingness to drive with a 16 ft. trailer
Strong organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to multi-task, work independently, and meet deadlines
Strong attention to detail
Commitment to providing outstanding customer service
Strong communication skills (oral and written)
Commitment to continuous improvement
Practice effective team behavior and demonstrate effective interpersonal relationships

Working Conditions:

Work Schedule:

35 hours per week Tuesday through Saturday

Must be prepared to stay overnight if necessary on occasional times of road closures (winter)
May experience unusual stress from high business volumes, deadlines, continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements, and commuting to/from Snowbird.

Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Must be willing to be outside for long periods of time in hot/ cold or variable conditions.
Work is subject to frequent interruptions making continuity and accuracy difficult, frequent exposure to noise.
