Job Description: Summary:
Ensures the financial integrity of the organization through sound fiscal management, financial reporting, and accounting oversight. Oversees all aspects of information technology support and office administration.

Employment Classification: Full-time, FLSA exempt status.

General Responsibilities:

Finance & Accounting

1. Prepare monthly financial package and board material. Participate and support the Finance Committee and core Executive Team
2. Prepare and present annual budget, rolling forecast, cash projection and understand all budget to actual variances. Manage all Board questions and expectations pertaining to the financial health of the organization.
3. Review monthly financial statements prepared by the Accounting Coordinator. Oversees accounting to ensure sound fiscal administration and adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principals and non-profit reporting standards. Provide accounting support for all aspects of the organization.
4. Oversight of annual audit and tax planning and compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes.
5. Review County project reports and reconciliations with accounting records.
6. Research and understand contracts, legal issues, banking, investments, and other items as needed.
7. Responsible for ensuring there are adequate accounting controls including segregation of duties, accounting policies, and accounting procedures.
8. Coordinates and directs the preparation of financial forecasts, metrics, and benchmarks and KPIs, and analyze and report variances. Makes recommendations as deemed necessary.
9. Direct the preparation and final review of grant application budgets and financial worksheets.

Information Technology & Administration
1. Provide oversight, direction and mentoring to department staff in completion of duties.
2. Maintains the organization's documentation related to all finance and accounting procedures and processes.
3. Provide oversight for all technology functions including technology vendor oversight, information technology budget approval, and ensures all network services, information systems groups, audio/visual services, and telecommunication needs are met.
4. Oversees effective management of office functions such as supplies, mail, general office appearance, distribution of mail and packages, break rooms, etc.

Qualifications
• General professional knowledge of the following areas and comprehensive knowledge of at least two of the following: non-profit or public administration or accounting, museum service or finance management.
• Bachelors’ degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, or comparable field; CPA strongly preferred.
• Minimum 5 years management experience in a non-profit – museum preferred; or acceptable equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to develop plans and budgets and to innovate effectively during times of rapid change or unanticipated organizational challenge.
• Effective communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both within and outside the organization; and to work well with others in team situations.
• Track record of successful organizational leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple, high priority activities simultaneously.
• General knowledge of applicable computer software and systems.
