Job Summary

Prevent Child Abuse Utah (PCAU) seeks an experienced Events Development Manager with a passion for nonprofit excellence. As a member of PCAU’s leadership team, the Events Development Manager will successfully plan and produce agency fundraising events that meet and exceed the organization’s revenue goals. He/she will also create and effectively manage the organization’s event communications plan to build a consistent brand and to develop and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities

• In partnership with the Director of Philanthropy and the PCAU Executive Director, coordinate PCAU signature fundraising events, including (but not limited to): Barn Party for Prevention, Partners in Prevention Annual Breakfast, Statewide Adopt A School Fundraiser and the Stacey Campbell Memorial Golf Tournament

• Coordinate all aspects of volunteer event committees, including member recruitment, sub-committee assignments, and administrative support

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, reliable and flexible; thrives in a fast-paced environment; a driving force who manages toward clarity, finds solutions and is able to think strategically about the organization

• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, an ability to listen to and balance, negotiate and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders

• Ensure the accurate tracking and processing of all event revenues/expenses including receipts correspondence, in-kind contributions, event revenue, cash and cash equivalents

• Ensure high quality donor data is maintained for all event guests and donors including but not limited to database entry and notes

• A successful track record in executing on strategy, setting priorities, managing multiple projects and working effectively under pressure to achieve individual and organizational goals.

• Assist in the full cycle of donor engagement, including prospect identification, data and relationship management, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship

• Ensure accurate and timely tracking of contributions from and acknowledgement to individuals and corporate supporters

• Promote opportunities for donors and partners to engage with PCAU programs and events

• Support the publication and distribution of event communication materials (E-News, newsletters, advertisements, social media and others as defined)

• Develop strong vendor relationships to leverage corporate and community support and minimize expenses for PCAU development activities

• Recruit, schedule and supervise volunteers and interns to support all agency events

• Support requests for outreach and public speaking event promotion as needed

• Deliver all PCAU events with safety as a first priority, including emergency plans, safety personnel, and equipment

• Participate fully and strategically as a member of the development team

• Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and professional experience in philanthropy required, ideally in a rapidly-evolving institution.

• At least +3 years of successful event planning and management experience required

• Excellent interpersonal communication, relationship building and stewardship skills; ability to personally connect with, network and engage diverse groups of internal and external stakeholders

• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities

• Excellent attention to detail

• Commitment to delivering high-quality work aimed at results.

• Demonstrated ability to work productively and collaboratively within a team

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with database management.

• Evaluate plan quarterly and provide regular reports to Executive Director and PCAU Board.
